In Albania 58 infected with Nile fever: Report ISHP

While the situation is being kept on monitoring by the Institute of Public Health, tests from patients suspected of being infected around the globe arrive daily because of symptoms they show.

The Public Health Institute, in co-operation with municipalities where mosquitoes spreading the disease, is being recorded, but in Tirana they are also doing mosquito disinfectation with the aim of curbing the spread of this disease, which causes life loss.

But the ISHP urges all municipalities in the country to do disinclined territory they manage.

Since the release of this disease, the Public Health Institute has reported three loss of life.

But in 80 %s of cases, this disease does not show signs while in only 1 % of the affected cases can manifest severe nervous diseases such as meningitis or encephalitis, the rest exhibit fever, headaches, vomiting or muscle weaknesses similar to those of a flu.

The approach of autumn and the decline of temperatures further favours the situation as mosquitoes begin to leave, but this should not calm those who need to do the disinfectation, the process that must start as early as February when mosquitoes are still caterpillars.

This process in our country never starts in time, since tenders fail at best, and this service and the process begin late or are not done at all.
