Over 200 thousand euros of gold were robbed in mid-day in November last year in the town of Suhareka.
A day after the robbery at silversmith “Diacos” began the arrests, initially in police handcuffs, two suspects were placed for help in the robbery.
And eight days after the robbery, Kosovo Police Special Unit launched a major action, with long arms ready for the worst, the FIT unit landed at seven locations. In the neighbourhood of Arberia in Pristina, shooting began. Suspect, Dukagjin Gashi was killed after the police were fired. Four people were arrested in this location and in others, one of them Bujar Basha, Leotrim Cakoli, Besart Istrefi and Trim Barak é, the latter is the owner of a jewelry store in Pristina.
The latest in that case was arrested, on July 1st of this year, Korab Gashi was arrested.
Although nearly nine months have passed by the robbery, the indictment has not yet risen. The case prosecutor, Ervehe Gashi, said in RTV Dukaagjini that the delay in establishing the indictment is due to the multiple material to be considered.
According to the prosecutor from suspects in custody, they are for help and others in co-ordinating the robbery. Each action and every suspicion of criminal acts and correct actions will be described in the indictment.
And we're in the phase of the investigation, in the phase of the formal investigation, until the moment we're talking to you, we've been at the collection stage of material evidence such as expertise and other evidence we've provided under the Court's Law and Court Laws. Now we're at the second half of the investigation into the collection of non-metarial evidence, which is that witnesses and defendants will be questioned, during the month of August I plan that all these witnesses who are in huge numbers and defendants questioned. After the outcome of these investigative actions, the indictment will arise, but I want to say that the material is very broad and will take a real long time to compile the act”, she said.
