Today, ten years are filled by the death of former DPA leader in Macedonia, Arben Xhaferi, aged 64.
Xhaferi suffered from Parkinson's disease, which was also the reason for his withdrawal from politics.
He was an MP for the Macedonian Parliament since 1994, aimed at creating a two-room system in the legislature. At the time of armed conflict in 2001, his party was in power.
It is one of the signatories of the Ohrid Agreement, but with the procrastination of its implementation, it aimed at a new agreement between Albanians and Macedonians.
Arben Xhaferi was born in Tetovo on 24 January 1948. He worked in the Pristina Television Culture Review and, in the early 1990s, returned to live in Tetovo, where in 1994 he founded the Albanian Democratic Heritage Party, which later changed its name to the Albanian Democratic Party.
