After midnight, about 1:40 p.m., two city cars were burned, one of them Toyota, which was in the municipality parking lot. Apart from the material damage, there are no injuries, while police are on the scene immediately and are conducting investigations”, Elshan said.
Several similar incidents have occurred in northern Kosovo this year.
In early June, two cars were burned in the same place where the last trucks in North Mitrovica were burned, while in early April, a Kosovo border police member has been burned, as well, the car.
As of early March, another restaurant owned by Natasa Tomanic, former vice-president of the Zvecan municipality, has been burned. She and local authorities have said they suspect the fire was deliberately caused.
At the end of March, meanwhile, an object owned by Nenad Radosavlevki, former director of the Sport, Youth and Culture Administration in the Leposaviqi municipality, has been burned.
During 2023 and at the end of 2022, when the reregistering of Kosovo's license plates in the north was under way, several cars with RKS license plates (Kosovo Republic) were burned in the area.
