Hajrizi on July 6th escaped from the Smrekonica prison in Vushtrri, and his whereabouts remained unknown until his name was mentioned Thursday as the author of the murder of a policeman in the western town of Loznica in Serbia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora said it has yet to accept answers from Serbian authorities, while announcing that it has complained to the ambassadors of the QUINT countries through the Liaison Office in Serbia.
“Just as we have announced and previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora through the Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has formally requested from Serbian authorities confirmation of the identity of the person killed in Serbia. Through the same official request, the relief of procedures for the return of the lifeless body to the Republic of Kosovo and its surrender to family members has been requested. Nevertheless, the Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has so far received no response from Serbian authorities”, says an MPJD answer.
