RTK Workers' Union welcomes Shumbin Ahmetxejaj's resignation

Ahmetjekaj had offered his resignation from the post with 23.05,2024, but was made public by the board on 07.07,2024.

The union has said Ahmetjekaj, according to them, has failed to secure RTK property and increase welfare for workers, as well as organisational reform.

“Sindicate has consistently rejected the organisational Reformation process through each has been prone to the departure of workers and degradation, we have publicly rejected this, but also in the work process at the final meeting for the Reformation. We let everyone know, but also those who are aiming to come to the top of RTK that any tendency to fire workers will be met with strong legal opposition, but with legal consequences for the individual himself”, says union response.

At the end of the response, the union has said it expects from the Board RTK's to organise a fair competition for the director's position in the legal term, but have also said they expect all positions that are taskeering to be completed and that are important for the functioning of RTK.

The Kosovo Radio Television Board (RTK) with 07.07.2024 has announced that Zana Spahiu has been appointed task manager of RTK General General, following Ahmetxaj's resignation. In his reaction, Ahmetjekaj has said his resignation from the post of RTK General Director is a peak, according to him, of a seven-month political pressure.
