Peter Shala's sentence by the Special is expected with many reactions in Kosovo: Political court, ballet differently is

To 18 years in prison, the former KLA chief Peter Shala sentenced the Special Court on charges of war crimes.

Shala was convicted of three criminal acts: arbitrary bans, torture and unlawful murder.

“Z. Shala, having been convicted of more than one criminal offence, the court has ruled a separate sentence for each criminal offense. The trial panel has determined the following sentences: a six-year prison sentence for the war of arbitrary detention, a 16-year prison sentence for torture, and an 18-year prison sentence for unlawful murder. With that decision, the number reached nearly 50 years in prison for former KLA soldiers who were sentenced by the Special Court.

That includes the condemnation of Salih Mustafa and Nasim Haradinaj and Hysni Gucati.
