Kosovo has marked an apparent increase in the number of visitors in recent years, making the country an increasingly attractive destination for tourists.
According to data from the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), during 2023, the number of visitors and night stays of both locals and foreigners has reached record levels.
The town of Peja has come to the top of the list with 659,948 visitors, becoming the most popular destination of the year.
After Pec, Pristina ranks with 305,601 visitors, which continues to be the country's cultural and administrative centre.
In third place is Prizren, the town known for its cultural and natural heritage, which draws more and more visitors.
This increase in the number of visitors points to Kosovo's great tourist potential and ongoing efforts to promote the country's historic and beautiful sites.

Based on AKS statistics, in May of this year, the number of (local and foreign) visitors to hotels was 51 thousand and 528, of which 39.3% were locals and 60.6% were external.
Compared to May 2023 (as many as 48,553 visitors) there was an increase in the total number of visitors to hotels for 6.1%.
The net concentrations were 120 thousand 92, of which 50.99% of locals and 49.0% of foreigners.

The ASS also suggests that in terms of foreign visitors compared to the pre-term (May 2023) there is an increase in visitors for 19.6%.
In the total of 31 thousand and 268 foreign visitors, the largest number is from Albania, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, etc.”, the report says.
