As the Presidency Office has announced, Osman will be in Washington to participate in activities organised by the US State Department for Women, Peace and Security, which is held under the NATO Summit, in the 75th anniversary of the establishment of this military organisation.
Praising Secretary Blinken's invitation, President Osmani has stressed that Kosovo's involvement in such activities is of particular importance, since it is the first time Kosovo is involved in events under the NATO summit.
“This enables the creation of new partnerships in Kosovo's path towards NATO membership. Kosovo's involvement in the activity organised by Secretary Blinken dedicated to the Agency for Women, Peace and Security is a powerful indication of the growing role Kosovo is playing in advancing this agenda to the global level and its dedication to NATO-backed principles and values, said the Presidency's announcement.
While in Washington D.C., President Osmani will also hold activities and other meetings where strengthening co-operation with the aim of contributing to peace and security in our region and beyond.
We remember that the President's office was selected among the three global partners from Secretary Blinken's Office to establish the Regional Excellence Centre for Women, Peace and Security. The agreement on establishing this centre was signed by President Osmani and Secretary Blinken's Office in April 2024, during the Forum for Women, Peace and Security.
Summit NATO in Washington, D.C., serves as a platform for member states and partner states to co-operate on urgent global security issues and reaffirm their commitment to a safer future.
