The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo in a response to the Express Journal have confirmed that Macedonian authorities have assigned the 30-day detention measure, Blerim Ramadani, who was arrested on 17 July at the border checkpoint in Jazhinca as a result of an arrest sheet from Serbia.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora informs the opinion that citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, Blerim Ramadani, have been assigned 30-day detention measures with the Constitutional Court's decision in Skopje. Blerim Ramadani has been detained on July 17th 2024 at the point of the Jazhinca border crossing, based on a warrant issued by the Belgrade Court through INTERPOL Serbia, with the claim of war crimes in the summer 1999 Nerodima region”, have told Express by MPJ.
The MPJ has said that the Kosovo Embassy in Skopje is working through a team of experts for Blerim Ramadani to be released as soon as possible and return to his family.
The Kosovo Republic's “Embassy in Skopje is engaged with legal experts' teams for Mr. Ramadan and his return to the family. MPJD and Kosovo institutions will use all diplomatic channels to ensure the release of our citizens”, the Foreign Ministry told Express.
