Former Malisheva Chairman, Former Trade Minister Condemned by 2 and a half years in prison

The Constitutional Court in Pristina has declared condemnation of the former leader of the Malisheva municipality, Ragip Begaj, former Prime Minister Bajram Hasani, the Union and Mala Krasniqi, who were accused of misusing around “Montenegro's”, and has acquitted Hajdin Berisha, Faton Thaci, Ahmet Canmanaj and Nazimi Cegolelli. The indictment against them was announced Thursday by the chairman of the court, Vesel Ismaili.
Under this conviction, Begaj and Hasani have each been sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison, while the Union and Malia Krasniqi were sentenced to 2 years in prison.
Meanwhile, Berisha, Thaci, Rahmanaj and Caffejoli were acquitted after the court failed to prove the same committed criminal acts they were charged with.
The convicts in this case, each alone, were obliged to pay for both the procedural expenses and the 350-euro amount of judicial paushal and another 100 euros for the compensation fund for crime victims. Others, however, are also relieved of these expenses.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) on July 1st 2021 has filed charges against indictees Ragip Begaj, Hajdin Berisha, Berisha, Malia Krasniqi, Bajram Hasani, Faton Thaqi, Nazmi Cafgjili and Ahmet Candjmani.
According to the indictment, Ragip Begaj, Hajdin Bersiha, Bashkim Krasniqi, Malë Krasniqi, Bajram Hasani, Nazmi Caffejoli and Faton Thaqi are charged with having committed the criminal work of “Kest misuse of official position or authority”. Ahmet Canthmanaj, charged with criminal work “Clearing the money”, while Nazim Caffejoll is also charged with criminal work “Misery”.
They are charged that by misusing their official position or authority, they have created the Economic Zone in Malisheva, in the cadastral areas of Banja, Bellanica and Senik, with the aim of expropriating low-priced lands at a much higher price.
