Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia has said it comes up with a clarification concerning a statement he has issued to the media today, concerning the question that “A needs to become a peace agreement between Kosovo and Serbia during dialogue in Brussels? ”.
The guy for the Clancosova. tv has stated he has replied that he has actually been the first proposal in the talks by Prime Minister Albin Kurti for the 6-point non-attack and mutual aggression agreement, as a first step before we entered the dialogue.
This proposal, submitted in July 2021, was rejected by Serbia's president, Vuciq. This agreement would be a prerequisite and a guarantee of commitment to the parties for dialogue. Unfortunately, this draft was rejected, and then the dialogue process coincided with dangerous developments such as the terrorist and paramilitary attack on Banjska, the kidnapping of three Kosovo police officers by Serbia's regular uniformised forces within Kosovo's territory and other acts of aggression and conventional military threat from Serbia”, Macedonci told Klakosova.
Macedonia has declared that it still appreciates that these risks could have been avoided if they had a non-attack agreement from the two states in the pre-dialog phase.
This agreement would not mean forgiveness of genocide and war crimes, but would establish a much more suitable environment for dialogue. In the absence of this agreement, Serbia decided and continues to retain two-thirds of its military capacities south of its territory and along the border with the Republic of Kosovo, as a threat to Kosovo's security and stability”.
However, we are now in a new moment. We have a Bazic agreement and its annex that envision mutual respect for territorial and good neighbourly integrity. The agreement and Anex should be implemented in full and unconditional terms, while the priority of our institutions to uphold sovereignty and rule of law already established in our country's four northern municipalities”, the minister has stated.
