The Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo have called for Prime Minister Albin Kurti's resignation, on the pretext that he has failed to advance the Republic of Kosovo in the international arena, with particular emphasis on NATO membership.
The call of Prime Minister Albin Kurti that Kosovo's NATO membership would serve peace and security in the region and Europe, The LDK's PDK considers it populist and electoral, so they consider it a difficult process at this time.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Armend Zemaj, Prime Minister Albin Kurti's application for NATO membership and other organisations, views it as domestic political consumption, as he said there are no concrete actions in this direction.
According to him, major damage is also causing lack of co-ordination with international allies.
“As the partnership is being maintained with people who are partner states, above all, deport our membership in the north-Atlantic alliance, and to have continued peace in the region, in the interests we have as Kosovo's membership, or priority goal by President Rugova to date. The way the government has treated partners has often left bad taste even with great differences, but we insist that friendship, partnership and empower the security structure part in Kosovo, especially the army and be part of this alliance. We work for peace Kosovo has proved to be a peaceful country, even though war has been imposed on us for freedom and independence, and this has never been in doubt of anyone”.
There may have been shades that Mr. Kurti often for internal consumption not what has been real by citing trends of war or danger that have raised concerns in citizens. Despite that, we have to make sure that we have stable and creditable institutions, have power without political restrictions without facades. Let's invest in our own security structures and be with the contestants we're trying to be partners with. While NATO is here and KFOR, then this is also an additional security that Kosovo has the support of allies. It should thus make its journey towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Dialogue has not had any strategy, the good part or options the opposition has given. It has given up some issues that have been very important to be part of the dialogue and its completion with mutual recognition”.
The LDK MP has demanded the chief executive's resignation, as the failures in government have said. He said the scandals are huge and vastly corrupt.
The “Kurti has had to resign for the failures he has had in government and in his inability to lead with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, probably needs a little time in opposition and structural in an ideological way to get a literal approach or leadership. Scandals are too big not to talk about big corrupt relatives and budget damage. There has been no progress in how Kurt governed, and expectations have been far greater than those who trusted him. We are now in the phase where early elections or fair elections await us, but we are seeing that it is not morally the man who resigns and creates opportunities for free elections”, has declared Zemaj for EO.
While Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy Hisen Berisha, statements by Prime Minister Albin Kurti that “nothing serves peace more than Kosovo's EU and NATO membership” are populist and for electoral effect.
This statement is a statement of what the populist meaning now on the eve of elections for electoral effect that is Kosovo's goal of being a member of the European Union and for Euro-Atlantic integration in general and NATO. But how could such a declaration make sense if with the February 27th agreement of 2023, the prime minister at the negotiating table has agreed that Serbia's condition will be lifted for 10 years for recognition of Kosovo and for changing the Constitution, what logic this statement has, what effect this is said. Simply for the populist effects because we are close to elections and should be formulated as many causes as possible, statements that produce causes in a step further to deceive citizens”, Berisha said.
Kosovo's membership process in these international organisations, Berisha calls the country's past state goal. So, it points out that Kurti Government has not done enough to achieve this goal. The criticism is also of giving land to the Decani Monastery.
All the jobs Kosovo has done since independence here are in service of its integration into the European Union and NATO and to have seats in the United Nations as well, so this is a state goal. What has contributed to this period of governance for bringing Kosovo closer from these integrations show the reality on the ground. You saw it only on the Council of Europe, just to take the report of Dora Bakoyanis implanting a decision that is and himself has named it and pledged that he will never implement the Milosevic period of public property given to the Decani Monastery. If other conditions were accepted these have sent a letter with three signatures of leadership, that they are able to fulfill any obligation. They are trying to cover the social, political, dialogue, infrastructure, education and health failure in all areas on major topics that are outside Kosovo's sole decision-making domain without co-ordination with international partners”, Berisha said.
