The country's prime minister, Albin Kurti, is taking part in publishing the first census data from the Kosovo Statistics Agency.
Kurti said realising the census was one of the government's top priority projects this year.
The implementation of the census was one of the government's top projects this year, taking into account the importance of timely data as well as the round of global records 2015-2024, where Kosovo will be part of this” development.
This record is a reflection of our commitment to understand and address the needs of our population, providing both equal distribution of resources and of laying the groundwork for decision-making to inform that will shape the future of Kosovo”.
In a way, real statistics are like GPS for the future of our country. With precise data, we are certain that we will not lose our way and find our destination, otherwise we will end up doing the spins and therefore lose valuable resources”, Kurti said.
Furthermore, Kurti said that the extraction of full and accurate data would enable decisionmakers, starting from the local central level of policy orientation and better services for citizens.
Without quality statistics, decisions can also be qualityless. Statistics are a public good and should be used for making witness-based decisions. In democracy, making political decisions based on evidence is far more important to offer
