In a Facebook text, he has said the PDK will bring these two laws to the Constitutional Court of Kosovo. It has named the adoption of internationally criticised laws as “the continuator of the authoritarian and unconstitutional mentality of Kurti Government and Vetevendosje Movement”.
“Today, unfortunately, democracy, freedom of expression and unrecognized information, as well as independent justice from power, contrary to any European practice and standard, was dealt with a powerful blow by the state itself, which is called to protect and support these freedoms and principles. The Democratic Party of Kosovo will reject this populist approach that is undermining the perspective of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, but also good reports with our international allies, who have in a long time and voice rejected past laws from current power today”, he has written.
The power today passed the laws, for which there has been criticism from the opposition, non-governmental organisations and the international community, which considered that adopting the KPM bill risks violating freedom of expression and media freedom.
