The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms (KMDLNJ) has said arresting Kosovo citizens by Serbian authorities on charges that they were members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) is being made with political decisions to exercise pressure.
For the arrest of Blerim Ramadani, the Council has indicated that it hopes to be released as soon as “but that this is not the solution”.
The yesterday's <x0) arrest of Blerim Ramadani in Northern Macedonia was not the first case, and, so far, no arrested Albanian has been extradited to Serbia as if neither Ramadan will be extradited”, it is said in response.
In a media communique, KMDLNJ has said that Kosovo must be fully committed to ensuring legal protection for those arrested “as well as full support for the family of those arrested”.
The “is now emerging that those lists have been forwarded to Interpol and are also being arrested as was the case of Blerim Ramadani. Previously on the basis of Serbia's warrants had been banned ) the prime ministers Haradinaj and Ceku, deputies of the Kosovo Parliament, union, political activists, etc. KMDLNj hopes Ramadani will be released soon, but that this is not a solution until those are the lists that threaten every former KLA soldier or person Serbia seeks his arrest”, KMDLNJ says.
