The building was sheltering thousands of displaced people at the Nuseyira refugee camp in central Gaza, according to Hamas-led health ministry.
Israel, according to bc, said it had hit some of Hamas' <x0terrorists operating in structures located in the Al-Jaoun school area”.
A local source said the target was a room allegedly used by Hamas police.
A spokeswoman for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (Unwa) said the claims were “very, very serious” and should be investigated.
The attack comes as hopes rise that an agreement between Israel and Hamas is on the horizon.
Israel has announced it will send a team of negotiators next week to discuss an agreement to release hostages with Hamas.
This comes after a senior American administration official said Hamas had agreed to <x0-edge very important <x0-edge” in his position regarding a possible ceasefire.
A senior Hamas source told Reuters news agency on Saturday that the group had agreed to start talks on the release of Israeli hostages 16 days after the first proposed phase of an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
