With the last two cases of escapes from prisons in Kosovo, the Kosovo Correcting Service is holding an extraordinary press conference, the signal reports.
USKK Director General Ismail Dibrani said before the media that convicted Faton Hajrizi has been sentenced for 25 years, while other convict Wykan Metaj was 11 years in prison.
He further added that as a result of the two convicts' escapes, several prison officials have started by disciplinary procedures.
The convicted Faton Hajrizi has been sentenced to a unique sentence of 25 years. He ended 1/2 of his 2019 sentence. The other convict has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. The same man in January 2024 used his weekend rights. The law on the execution of criminal sanctions allows us as soon as the convict ends half of his sentence, to beat the weekend at home. When a person uses the weekend, it's easier to leave. We have begun the disciplinary procedure against some officials. We're in close co-ordination with security institutions to manage the”, Debrani said.
