Macron can choose whom he will as future prime minister under the constitution, but in practice he must elect someone acceptable to parliament -- usually the leader of the largest party.
Jean- Luc Mélenchon, head of hard left France, the largest party in the leftist coalition bloc, which came out first, said Prime Minister Gabriel Attal “should go” and that the fai is “ready to govern”.
The outcome of yesterday's elections was a blow to Marine Le Pen's far-right party, which was designed to win more seats in Parliament, but came to third place, as did President Emmanuel Macron, whose central alliance together lost about 80 seats and took second place.
