In a statement to Reporter.net online., Boletin shows he's waiting for “findings of the Ad-Hoc Commission established today to review the created situation.
“Today, the Ad-Hoc Commission has been established to review the controversial news broadcast on RTK, which has been received and translated by a Bosnian media medium. I encourage the commission to handle this case as soon as possible and to come up with a professional and objective report and therefore come as a board proposal.”, RTK board chairman said.
The question of whether Riley Gervala, director of the board, will be dismissed RTK1 publicly denounced by editor Jeton Musliu for pressing for publication in “Central news” Article “Slobodna Bosnia”, Besnik Boletini explains: “I'm under the impression that from outside we don't understand the decision-making procedures in RTK. It would be ideal if they were in the private sector. The board cannot take a single action without a proposal. In concrete case, the board cannot undertake anything without carrying out its already appointed commission work.”.
But is Besnik Boletin thinking about his resignation after this scandal involving public television?
“As for the question of resignation, from my point of view, in complex situations the easy solution is to resign, is to solve the problem on the personal level. But in the situation where we are, my priority is to rigorously seek responsibility for the release that has been made, not to leave the problem and responsibility. Reports based solely on claims and groundless grounds are unacceptable to have place in RTK. After addressing this responsibility to the end, all involved, then the easiest thing is to see my position”, said Besnik Boletini.
RTK broadcast of the news allegedly linked to Serbia has prompted reactions of journalists, media, civil society in Kosovo and international organisations. This is as the scheme of this public television scandal seems clear and motivated by political power in Kosovo and the party Vetevendosje.
Director RTK1, who was denounced for pressing for publishing scandalous news on public television, Riley Grovall, is former member and LVV militant, Prime Minister Albin Kurti's party.
About the news where two Kosovo media are attacked Wednesday, several journalists and RTK editors have been distanced.
