New EU Ambassador for Kosovo named Aivo Ora

The European Union Council today appointed four new EU special representatives, among them, for Kosovo as well. The new EU ambassador to Kosovo will be Aivo Ora, a Estonian diplomat with broad national and EU experience in a wide range of positions. He will take on [...] duties
He will assume his duties on September 1st 2024 for an initial period of two years, succeeding Tomáš Szunyog, who had been on duty since 2020.
In the EU news report, Orrav is currently Estonia's Permanent Representative to the EU and previously served as chairman of EU delegations to Montenegro and Northern Macedonia.
“Orav will play a leading role in promoting a stable, peaceful, democratic and multiethnic Kosovo which co-operates with the region. It will also support Kosovo's European perspective and draw closer to the EU and monitor, help and facilitate progress in the political, economic and European priorities”.
