Court continues detention for two months of spying suspects

Sh and M. Q, the Constitutional Court in Pristina ʹThe Special Department with the date of 05.07.2024 has received the verdict and approved the Special Prosecutor's request of the Republic of Kosovo, so that the detention measure of two defendants has been continued in length of 2 (two) months”, the Constitutional Court in Pristina says in response to “The JusticeBetim”.
Bedri Shaban and Qrim were arrested under suspicion that they were involved in spying activities.
According to the PSRK, the two defendants allegedly committed criminal work “Spy” from Article 124, par. Three of the Penal Code, already the M.Q. defendant. has carried out the other criminal work “retaining ownership, control or unauthorized possession of weapons” by Article 366, par.1 of the Criminal Code, and there is doubt that the defendants had to commit the criminal acts they were suspected of.
Otherwise, the Kosovo Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) had announced that following the development of several months of investigations, in co-operation with the Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), he conducted raids in two Kosovo locations and arrested two persons with Kosovo citizenship, B. Sh and M.Q. suspected of committing criminal work “Spy”.
Kosovo police (PK) through a 24-hour report have indicated that in the homes of two suspects who were arrested for spying Wednesday, various documents, computers, phones were found and seized, USB, DVR, tapes, weapons, ammunition, masks, military gasmasks and a lot of other evidence.
According to police, the arrest of the suspects came after in co-operation with the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence and Special Prosecutors, investigative action has been taken over spying allegations. /Betimy for Justice
