Today, I took part in prayer in Tirana in honor of the life and work of Ismail Kadare. He gave so many to the Albanian nation, and for that we will all always be grateful, while through it the Albanian people gave the world a literature genius, and for that we will always be proud, we and the generations to come.
The pain of his flight is too great, but he will be among us unforgotten, with his creativity remaining immortal in world literature!
By his work he expanded his tongue, sharpened perceptions, and magnified his senses, lit up his imaginations, shaped images for all our people. His figures, phrases, verses, and characters are already collective references to our ideas and artistic senses as a nation.
May he rest in peace and eternity, where he will turn to light the whole world.
