Foreign Minister Donika Grovalla has announced on Wednesday that she has significantly lowered the tariffs for consular services at Kosovo embassies, which she has considered to have been very high.
According to Gervala, Kosovo is committed to improving the quality of services that exiles receive in the countries where they work.
Kosovo is dedicated not only to organise the most favourable environment for hundreds of exiles who come to spend vacations at homes in Kosovo, but also to significantly improve quality in the consular services of diplomatic missions. We have found that tariffs for consular services -- most of them -- are significantly higher than the same services received in Kosovo. I'm proud to present to you new consular tariffs which make up not only visible discounts, but it avoids some unnecessary abnormalities, such as high payments for documents that are in the system our consulates are serving on Wednesday, she said at the press conference.
Gervala has called on the exiles, especially those in Germany, to seek the regaining of Kosovo's citizenship. To regain citizenship, according to Gervala, the application is free and free of protracted procedures.
Germany, in which the largest number of our exiles lives, has entered into force at the end of June, the law on dual citizenship. Urgently, not only has the reduction of tariffs for regaining Kosovo's citizenship but also of simplifying procedures. How difficult and painful for those over 50,000 Kosovo citizens who, in the absence of alternatively, have surrendered citizenship. Our consultations are received with open arms to apply as soon as and without the necessary bureaucracy for regaining citizenship”, the minister has declared.
Exiles are served with passports, IDs, certificates and other services at Kosovo embassies.
