It benefited over 13 thousand euros by misusing position, the Supreme confirms the 6-month sentence for the Drensian official

The Supreme Court has proved the six-month prison sentence to Drenasis official Gzim Nishani, who by misusing his position had benefited over 13 thousand euros.

“rejected as unfounded request by convicted defender G. The US, for the protection of legitimacy, filed against the act of Constitutional Court in Pristina”, says in the Supreme decision taken on May 23rd 2024, the Justice Vow reports.

The 6-month sentence, Nishani, was announced on 14 September 2023 by the Constitutional Court in Pristina.

This ruling had been confirmed by the Court of Appeals on December 14th of 2023, alleging them as unequivocal for the defendant's complaint, and proving the act of first degree in the punitive part.

According to the indictment, set up on September 27, 2018, Shishan, in the quality of personnel leader in the Drina municipality, from November 2008, continued until July 2018, had obtained illegal property benefits.

Always in accordance with the indictment, the official had carried out his salary with the wage cofficiency of 11.3, instead of completing his salary at 9.5, so that he had brought an illegal wealth in the amount of 13 thousand and 454 euros and 94 cents.

According to the prosecution, he had failed to comply with the decision of the mayor of the Drenas municipality, with which Shishan's decision had been changed from 11.3 to 9.5.

For these actions, Shishan was charged with benefiting 13 thousand and 454 euros and 94 cents, damaging the Drina municipality's budget.
