With bandages in his ears, Trump arrived at Milwaukee for the Republican Convention

Donald Trump travelled to Milwaukee, where the Republicans will officially appoint him as their presidential candidate this week, a day after he survived an assassination.

President Joe Biden, a Democrat, ordered a review of security measures to determine how a 20-year-old with an AR-15 rifle drew close enough to shoot Trump on Saturday. As former president, Trump has eternal protection from the United States Secret Service.

Trump, 78, was holding a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a key state in the November 5th election when shots were heard, hitting his right ear. His associates said he was only slightly injured and that he was fine.

One person from the mob was killed and two were injured. Secret Service agents shot the suspect dead.

Trump must receive the official nomination of his party at the Republican National Convention, which begins on 15 July in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The FBI said there were no known threats to the convention or any participants, while the Secret Service said it did not foresee any change in the security plan.

I would postpone my trip to Wisconsin for the Republican National Convention by two days, but as soon as I decided that I could not allow an attacker or a potential killer to force us to replant or anything else”, Trump wrote in July. 14 on his Social Truth page.

The convention will include speeches by rising republican stars, and Trump is expected to announce his election to the vice presidential candidate. The convention is expected to outline party positions on issues such as abortion, immigration and the economy.

FBI identified Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as a suspect, said the shooting was being investigated as an assassination attempt. FBI officials said Sunday the gunman acted alone.

Crooks was a registered republic, according to voting data, but he donated $15 to a democratic political committee when he was 17. At the time of the shooting, he was employed as a assistant cook in a nursing home.

The agency said it has not yet identified an ideology linked to the suspect or any indication of mental health problems or of finding any threatening language in the suspect's social media accounts.

There is no place in America for this kind of violence, or any violence, on this issue. The assassination attempt conflicts with everything we support... as a nation,” Biden said.
