Beden, the current Democrat president and challenger Republican Trump will face each other for the first time in the 2024 election cycle. They argued with each other for the last time on October 22, 2020, as part of that year's presidential race.
To participate in the debate, presidential candidates had to meet a set of criteria set by the American news network CNN, which is hosting the event.
This included retaining their name on state ballots sufficient to meet the Electoral College threshold needed to win the presidency, and obtaining at least 15 per cent support in four separate national polls of registered and eligible voters.
