High temperatures, Kosovo doctor's appeal: From 11:00 till 5:00, stay home!

The Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Public Health is constantly being called for increased care during these days. Regarding this climate situation that our country is going through and how citizens should be protected has told of “Gazeta Blic” General doctor Drita Pekani-Gashi.

Peqani-Gashi said that third-aged people with cardio-vascular diseases, pregnancys and young ones should be a special care. The same suggested drinking at least two to three liters of water per day.

We're witnessing that, especially last week, very high temperatures are building, so we should also be careful how to protect ourselves from these temperatures. Especially people with chronic illnesses such as cardio-vascular heart and blood vessels and then diabetes sufferers, people with different pulmonary diseases. Special care should be taken for children, especially young ones and pregnant women”

The doctor asked them to avoid the hot pit from 11:00 to 5: 00 p.m. and stay at home.

So I had suggested to all citizens that in hours between 11 and 5 o'clock they stay in well - ventilated, cooled domestic environments, consume considerable amounts of fluids at least 2 to 3 liters per day. Feeding on very light foods that are not rich in fats and carbohydrates means different vegetables. Foods should be especially salads and drink enough fluids” said Pekani-Gashi for “Gazeta Blic”. Even the ICHPK has come up with some advice on how citizens can be protected from high temperatures.
