EU Office Ambassador to Pristina Thomas Szunyog, during his visit to Memorial Park “Blace 99”, has declared that Kosovo should use the possibility of membership in the big European family, as the latter has the will to accept new members.
Szunyog has said that during its 4-year period in Kosovo, he has met many young and excited Europeans, who deserve a European future.
There is will and Kosovo has the potential, and they have to seize the possibility of becoming an EU member, because on the part of the EU there is a will to accept new members... during my time here, I have met many young and excited Europeans and I think they deserve to have European future” Szunyog has said.
Ambassador Szunyog has added that it is very important that Kosovo together with other states have peace so that the whole region can move towards integration in the European Union.
It is important for me to visit Blace especially now when it is time for us to remember the 25th anniversary of the end of the Kosovo conflict... And I think it's important that we commemorate this park because of the honor of those people who were forced to release Kosovo during that time... I hope this park will be visited by a lot of people so they can remember it and all that suffering will not be forgotten. I have personal memories of that time in 1998. In November, I have visited Albania's north, Kukes, and I have been very shocked by what I have seen, with tens of thousands of refugees... it is also very important that they come to reconciliation so that the whole region can go towards the EU”, Szunyog said.
During the meeting he had with Elez Khan Chairman Mehmet Ballage has also been discussed fixing the road leading to the 99th Memorial Park.
