We've heard twice on the phone with him, we haven't heard from him since, only through the lawyer and through the co-ordination office that's there in Belgrade”.
So says Qemajl Mustafa, while confessing the moment his father, Tefik Mustafa, was arrested on June 1st by Serbian authorities, under suspicion of “war crimes”.
At RTV Dukagjini, Kemal Mustafa has said they have not had the opportunity to visit Dad because they feel at risk.
From the information he received from the lawyer and the liaison office in Belgrade, Kemajl Mustafa says his father, Tefiqu, has not been found to be being tortured being beaten.
“Baba has been arrested running Serbia towards the Merdar border point, there has been detained, continued detention procedures, sent to the Kushumlia station and then to Belgrade. He has been assigned a 30-day detention measure. With the lawyer co-ordinations, every day from the day the detention measure was assigned, we haven't been able to get there because we're feeling like we're in danger, the lawyer and the liaison office are gone and they've visited him today, they've stimulated him without, they've calmed him down, they're all right, I've asked him about some torture or beating, they said, "There's not something that's not noticed”, he said.
The Mustafa family considers Tefiq is being held unjustly in Serbia's prisons.
Kemeil Musatafa has stressed that his father has emigrated to Germany since 1997, and by 2004 he has not been able to make free movement towards Kosovo.
It is unjustly maintained. During wartime it has not been in Kosovo since 1997 has emigrated to Germany, and since then until 2004 it has not been possible to make free movement from Germany to Kosovo. By 2004 it has not been returned to Kosovo. Now he's being charged, allegedly in 1999, according to the prosecution, but it seems very serious when no one has a job to do with a charge, he added.
The Supreme Court of Belgrade's preliminary procedure judge has assigned Kosovo citizens Tefik Mustaf, the 30-day detention measure.
The M.T. defendant is charged with committing war crimes against the civilian population, as co-chairman”, is said in decision.
According to the ruling, the detention measure is scheduled because of the risk of escaping the defendant.
Kosovo's Foreign Ministry has considered Mustafa's detention an arbitrator and has called for the international factor for its release.
