Nine people were injured, including two young children and their mother, after an attacker opened fire in a water park on the outskirts of Detroit in the United States, where families gathered to escape the summer heat Saturday.
Order forces traced a suspect to a house where the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
An eight-year-old boy was shot in the head and in critical condition Saturday evening, said County Sheriff Oakland Mike Bouchard during a press conference. The boy's mother was also in critical condition after being wounded in the belly and legs, and his 4-year-old brother was in stable condition with a walking wound, reports the Associated Press.
Authorities initially said they believed that about 10 people had gunshot wounds from the Rochester Hills shooting, but that number was revised after they were searched at local hospitals.
Six more injured, all 30 and older, were in stable condition, Bouchard said. They included a husband and wife couple and a 78-year-old man.
