During the first day of the annual meeting of representatives of the Southeast European Parliaments' Defence and Security Commissions in Sarajevo, Serbia's delegation and the deputy chairman of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Assembly, Radovan Kovacevic, have interrupted Kosovo representatives' speeches and have left the conference.
This was announced by Kosovo delegation member Arber Rexhaj, through his Facebook account on June 12th.
In our own words, Serbia again tried that through fists on the table, closing our microphones, as the true ways to stop our speeches. But, however, they could not and would never beat”, Rexhaj said, suggesting that the participants there were along with the other Kosovo Parliament MP, Erdjan Galushi.
He thanked the deputies of Albania and Croatia, who, as he said, face them, clearly lined up on our side”.
“Ua said bluntly that Kosovo is an internationally recognised state, confirmed by the International Court of Justice. Also, the attack on Kosovo Banjska proves that Serbia has not changed is the same as Milosevic's”, Rexaj wrote.
The entity news agency Republika Srpska, SRNA, reported that the Serbian delegation with Kovacevici ʹ member of Milorad Dodi's Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) left the conference because “a member of the Croatian delegation, Zdravka Bushic, said Kosovo would be admitted to the Council of Europe”.
In the third step, the adoption of membership in the Committee of Ministers Kosovo has not been included in the agenda, as it has not made sufficient steps towards forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
Serbia and entity leaders Republika Srpska do not recognise Kosovo's independence.
The meeting is a two-day regular meeting of representatives of Southeast European Parliaments' Defence and Security Commissions, organised by the BiH Parliamentary Assembly's Defence and Security Commission, the Regional Centre for Security Co-operation and Mission The SEU in BiH, with the support of the Geneva Centre for Armed Forces Control. /rel
