Co-ordinator of the State Department's Centre for Global Action James Rubin said the long-term goal of normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina is mutual recognition of Serbia and Kosovo.
Rubin told the Albanian Voice of America that through the media operating in Serbia, Russia and China, they are performing the malicious “ill-being” using and spreading dezinforms and thus undermining “Euro-Atlantic integration and inciting regional tensions”.
“It is difficult to imagine normalised relations between Kosovo and Serbia without recognition and the fact that some countries, which are already EU members, do not recognise Kosovo is not relevant. Kosovo and Serbia have a problem to solve. They must normalise relations”, he said.
“Russia continues to exploit the Kosovo and Serbia issue by threatening to veto Kosovo's membership in the UN. So the Russians continue to try to divide”, he said.
