Germany's Ambassador to Pristina, Jorn Rohde, stated that despite the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, there was no willingness to include Kosovo in the agenda of the May 17th vote, Kosovo remains open to become a member of the governing human rights organisation if it meets the demands of Kosovo allies and friends.
Rohde via a post on the “X” platform on Monday, condition that the state it represents remains committed to bringing Kosovo to the Council of Europe as soon as possible, but added that Kosovo authorities must move forward towards the Association of Serb Majorities.
“We support the joint project of the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD) and the FOL Movement to improve access to justice in line with Council of Europe standards. Germany remains committed to bringing Kosovo to the Council of Europe as soon as possible. Moving forward with the Association of Serb-run municipalities will make this happen”.
Kosovo's request to join the Council of Europe was not taken into account by the Committee of Ministers ʹ the organisation's decision-making body despite the lettering of the chief of Kosovo diplomacy, mainly because Germany, France and Italy, decided condition that Kosovo take concrete steps towards establishing the Serbian Major Commission Association.
Kosovo was supported by the majority of MPs at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to pass the previous phase towards membership in the pantheon of equal European nations. But, the route of the small Balkan country takes all to the end, causing membership in this important organisation to be postponed for at least a year, if not more.
