Police provide details from arms seizure in the north, operation was in co-operation with AKI

Kosovo police have said they have confiscated quantities of weapons in the northern part of the country on Friday.

There are long arms of different calibres, pistols, hand grenades, and so on from the introduced weapons found in the north.

Kosovo regional police in Mitrovica have come up with details from today's action to apprehend illegal weapons in the north.

Kosovo Police Deputy Director for the Northern Region Veton Elshani has said that within the framework of operational activities in co-operation with AKI, they have managed to identify several locations where the hidden weapon was located, by former Civil Protection members and members of Banjska's terrorist group.

The first location is north of Mitrovica, in the vicinity of the Three Rrocaqijs, connects with the research person, Marjan Radojevic, while the next location is on “shire Cheeta of Miators”, north of Mitrovica that connects with the research subject Zarko Cvetkovic.

In the first location, three long AK-47 weapons, four rounds of 60 bullets, an 11-round comb, a pistol case, a military bag.

And in the second location, there's been found a belt of 25 rounds of bullets for hunting, 23 rounds for hunting weapons, TT pistol with a eight-round clip, three rounds of eight rounds, two rounds of rounds in the fossils, 28 rounds for long arms, 10 rounds of long rifle bullets (99 bullets), a box with bullets 762, four rifle cleaners, boxes with suspicious materials.

In the third location have been found a long gun in the quays, a two-accused pistol with eight rounds of 75862 and a fossil, black bag with gun cleaning gear, two boxes of 50 rounds of 75062, three rounds of eight rounds of paper, long hunting bags.

While metal gear, internal bulletproof vest, 30 pieces of explosive suspect tool have been found in the fourth location. TM 100, a uniform, a black bag with a first aid kit and a radio adaptor.

Since the September 24th attack on Zvecan Banjska, Kosovo authorities have introduced several times confiscated weapons in the northern part.

In September 2023, an armed Serb group attacked the Kosovo Police in Banjska, leaving Sergeant Africa Bulnjak dead.

Three attackers have been killed in exchange for the fire.
