He has suggested that this growth has not occurred due to any acceleration of economic activity in the country.
In his account in “Facebook”, Mustafa wrote that the government's alleged increase is due to tax hikes.
“The economic growth rate of 5.62% in the first quarter of 2024 (TM1 2024) turns out it has largely resulted from the government's tax increase and not from any acceleration of economic activity in the country. If we look at economy sectors one-on-one, we can't find a significant sector that has accelerated growth rate compared to TM1 2023, but instead notes slow growth in almost all sectors.”, he wrote.
He has estimated that the government's claims on economic prosperity are propaganda.
“Bruto Added Value, which represents the value of goods and services produced in Kosovo, has marked real growth of only 1.27%, compared to the 4.74% increase in TM1 2023. On the other hand, growth is concentrated on the Neto Tax in Products, which have marked real growth of 23.31% and have affected the growth rate of BPV. So, there is no boom of the economy, as the ministers of this government are promoting, but there is an increase in taxes collected by the government, which statistically engage in the estimate of BPV”, Mustafa wrote.
