Kosovo's recognition of the Catalan party challenges Spanish prime minister's interrogable mind in Parliament

The Madrile newspaper “releases this statement La Razon” while reporting on the Catalonian party initiative, Junts, for the recognition of Kosovo.

“The truth is that Kosovo has barely managed to draw recognitions from 100 countries (96 to be precise), but still Sėe has taken over the EU's five-member spot: Spain's Cyprus, Greece, Romania and Slovakia”, writes the centre-right and conservative-oriented newspaper.

“Spain, for the time being, has been far from supporting Kosovo, though if we take Sanchez's interrogable mind to base, things can change from one moment to another. Junts in their initiative include a response by the Spanish government of October 2021, where official reasons for non-recognition of Kosovo are identified.

“Spain takes the stance of not recognising the unilateral declaration of independence adopted by Pristina in 2008 as a unilateral act. However, from a constructive approach, it considers it time to make considerable efforts to resolve the Kosovo territory issue within the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina with an agreement respecting international law”.

Kosovo has in vain sought recognition of Spain, the latter being referring to the EU dialogue for a solution to the conflicts with Serbia that leaves the taste of <x0 seem making”.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in “El Pais” sought recognition from Madrid, trying to articulate differences between Kosovo and Catalonia; as two completely different cases.

“Spain should and will recognise Kosovo. As our great writer Ismail Kadare said, when he won the Prince of Asturias award: "Spanja should never be compared to Serbia, because Serbia committed genocide in Kosovo”, Kurti said in the Spanish newspaper.

“Spain should join most EU and NATO member states, which recognise Kosovo. It shouldn't be a minority. Twenty-two of the 27 EU members recognise Kosovo, as well as 26 of the 30 NATO member states. Spain must join majority”, Kurti concluded.
