Kosovo police have identified 65 illegal ways, near the border with Serbia. Finally, 25 of them have been closed, since the same were used for smuggling goods.
This road has been constantly frequented.
Not by locals, but by those who exploited it for illegal action.
And this area is located near the Brnjak border point in northern Kosovo, 50m near the administrative zone with Serbia, which has been used for smuggling goods.
Kosovo police have taken the same actions by identifying 65 illegal ways.
Police Deputy Director for the Northern Region Veton Elshani said there are already numerous illegal roads that have been blocked.
“We in the north of the country have identified some 65 illegal routes that are used for the flow of goods or people. Of these, over 25 have been shut down, either by concrete or by pits - pits are opening for them. So border police and law police are working as hard as they can to prevent smuggling with goods. We consider this to be quite successful and certainly will have actions in the future, he said.
Tv1 teaches exclusively that even this illegal route of Zubin Potok's municipality was used earlier for the introduction of illegal weapons.
A few metres beyond the border in Serbia, about a month ago, Serbian gendarmerie's movements were seen.
The last few days are behind reactions by even a Serb party in the north to close this road, making propaganda allegedly touching private property.
Police say no residential lands have been affected, while stressing that they will continue with the closure of such roads.
We have information about their complaints. We have understanding for them and we've stressed that every complaint they make will be examined on our side and as much as they're trying to do for them, we'll do”, Elshani said.
Elshani said Kosovo police are constantly carrying out patrols in the area.
