Kosovo imposes additional sanctions on Russia, sanctions Islamic Republic of Iran

The government cabinet approved the draft implementation of the Kosovo Republic's implementation of EU Council decisions for the deployment of restrictive measures to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the proposal for the fulfilment of the No.0164 Government decision of February 25, 2022 for implementation of EU Council and US decisions concerning the deployment of sanctions on the Russian federation and Belarus in proportion to the situation in Ukraine, and the proposal for implementation of the Republic of Kosovo's EU Council for setting restrictions on serious violations and human abuse of the Russian federation.
MPJD Deputy Minister Lisa Gashi until explaining these measures, said one of the sanctions on the Russian federation relates to the assassination of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navajo
“Continued to support the opposition to Russian aggression against Ukraine and in line with EU and US sanctions, The MPJD proposes for review and approval the decisions on implementing the EU's 12th and 13th package of sanctions on the Russian federation for violating and threatening territorial integrity. Ukraine's sovereignty and independence and other sanctions for serious violations and serious human rights abuses linked to the murder of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navajo. Also, Iran's sanctions package against persons involved in nuclear missile activities and persons offering support to Iran's” government, Gashi said.
Kosovo has been part of Western states that have sanctioned Russia for the war in Ukraine since it started in 2022.
