Before the Baden AG District Court on Wednesday, on the third day of the trial, the accused of killing Eagle Isufi has described how his wife's murder took place on 25 September 2022. He admitted to being responsible for her death, broadcasting albinfo.ch. However, he did not agree with the qualifications of crime as “severe murder”.
Crime occurred on the early morning of September 25, 2022. The man woke up and heard the water spraying from the bathroom. When he looked, he saw his wife shower in the bathtub. Her eyes fell on her cell phone where he, as he said in his statement to the court, saw an explosive scene of his wife with another man, writes sda.ch.
He was shocked, “as if the power had hit”. The woman wanted to get her cell phone out of her hands. There was a fight. At one point they fell together in the bathtub, which had water in it. We both fought hard.” Then he pushed her under the water. “in a moment it stopped moving”. He says tears he didn't want to kill her. Then he panicked. He threw his hair dryer (locked up), came out of the bathroom, closed the door, and pushed the key back under the door. According to the prosecution he wanted to simulate his wife's suicide.
Asked by the judge for the motive of the murder, the defendant said: “even I wonder about this”. He had no anger or feelings of jealousy. The moment he saw the picture, he was overcome by emotion.
Before seeing the photos, he knew nothing about his wife's affair, the man said. There was no sign of that except for her changed behavior with severe changes in moods in the months before the crime. In July 2022 he had specifically asked whether the “was involved in any third person”. “She replied indignantly that I could ask this question”, conveys albinfo.ch. Both have always benefited from the rule that has no place for extramarital relations.
Then he constantly monitored her with trackers, even against her will. The defendant has explained that there were cameras all over the house because of his wife's fear of thieves. That didn't bother him.
Judgment continues today. The verdict is expected Friday.
