France has expressed EU support to EU minister Miroslav Lajcak for his work in mediating Kosovo-Serbia dialogue “within the framework of Kosovo's application for membership to the Council of Europe”.
“Finance expresses its support for the EU special representative's mandate for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, for normalising Serbia-Kosovo relations and the stability of the Western Balkans within the framework of Kosovo's application for membership at the Council of Europe”, has said France's mission to the Council of Europe through a post in X, where it also tells of a meeting held and attended by Lajcak.
France was among the states that conditioned Kosovo with the launch of establishment of Association with CoE membership. After the Kosovo government rejected this condition, Kosovo did not enter the agenda of a meeting of the Committee of Ministers last month, which was expected to make the final decision on Kosovo's bid to become a member of the organisation. /Express/
