Canay: Do not leave EU measures, Kosovo's diplomatic failure

Former diplomat Blerim Canaj has expressed concern for a possibility of Kosovo's diplomatic failure if the measures are not lifted.

Canaj stressed that Kosovo must intensify its diplomatic efforts to remove these measures.

He added that the measures are unfair and that many diplomats of different countries know that, but their countries continue to support these measures.

Canaj suggested that Kosovo diplomacy should be more active and discuss with key states on abolishing the measures.

“It would have been good for our diplomacy to be more active and discuss with the states just for the removal of the measures. And then we don't go somewhere in Sicily, meet some Arabs because it's not a matter of diplomacy she's”, she added Canay.

If failure to remove the measures occurs even after Borrell's recommendation, Canay considers this a recent failure in Kosovo diplomacy.

“I have the impression in this case if it fails to remove these measures against Borrell's recommendation, it is simply Kosovo's series of diplomatic failure”, Canaj stressed.
