After visa liberalisation in Kosovo, the number of tourists who have visited the city of Thessaloniki in Greece has reached over 2 million. Meanwhile, compared with last year, there is a 20 percent increase in tourism in this country.
In an interview for Kosovo Press, Marketing chief at the Thessaloniki Tourism Organisation Grigoris Tooulias says that for the first time, during this winter, significant tourist figures have been marked, for which he added that Kosovo has played a role in this regard.
“have a very significant tourism growth in Thessaloniki, tourism arrivals, I think an increase of almost 20 percent over the past year. And the current number is over 2 million tourists coming to Thessaloniki from Kosovo. We have a lot of people coming directly to town or from Pierre Cutter, all from Halkidiki, where they visit to see the sun for summer holidays. So, if we take into account that they just come in one day to Thessaloniki, I think the figures are really very high, there are about hundreds of thousands of people from Kosovo”, Tooulias says.
According to him, in the past two years they have put Kosovo on their maps in terms of tourism.
He points out that tourist figures in Thessaloniki are increasing year-on-year.
