The testimony of 60th witness, trial in Thaci and others resume 6 May

(Updated, 11:20) Rexhep Selimi's defense, through lawyer Eric Tully today, also on behalf of other defence teams, demanded that one of the evidence expected to be heard next week be of no pro value in the case against former KLA leaders.

Tully said their presentation is linked to a photo album the witness has been questioned extensively, while the defence is not available. The lawyer said the SPS had told them that they didn't own these photos either, reports “Justice Trust”.

This is about using rule 154 to follow through next week's witness video connection. Defence teams do not object to this demand for vidoconnection, but we have a comment on one of the documents they would use. It's about material 021672021673, it's about witnessing in an investigative procedure. There are pages in the material... where the witness has been asked long and wide about a photo album. I mean, they haven't given us a photo album, and the prosecution says they don't own this photo album either. So we think this evidence should have no provative value. Otherwise, we're not going to contest the video connection section”, Tully said.

Regarding this presentation of defence teams, there was nothing to say to representatives of the Special Prosecutor's Office. As the session continued closed to the public to hear the witness.

In Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( DPSK) in The Hague is hearing testimony from the witness called by the Prosecutor's Office with code 04731 in the trial of Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.

The testimony of this witness is being heard in a completely closed hearing for the public, reports “Justice Trust”.

Prior to that, the chairman of the court announced to the court that all the accused are present in the courtroom except Jakup Krasniqi, who is present through video connection.

On the other hand, reasoning that a matter would be discussed, the session first went to private sessions and then closed completely.

Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office, on September 30th, 2022, has handed over the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which consists of ten points of charges, where the latter are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On April 29th 2022, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office had handed over a amended indictment to Hashim Thaci, Kadri Wessel, Rexhepi and Jakup Krasniqi, where four indictees have committed war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semtish.

On November 9th 2020, in their first appearances, Hashim Thaci's Jakup Krasniqi has been declared innocent of the charges placed on them. Wessel has also been declared in his presentation on November 10th, as has Rexhep Selimi on November 11th.
