The chief of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Thomas Szunyog, said the European Union is ready to lift punitive measures against Kosovo, but that, according to him, is based on steps the Kosovo Government will take to meet conditions.
The “Massat are formulated in last June 3rd's statement, and there are council conclusions in December last year that present the conditions for this. But the EU is ready to lift the measures, given the results of steps taken by the Kosovo side”, he said.
Ambassador Szunyog added that he expects the Government to establish the Association of Serb majority municipalities as legal duty.
This is a legal obligation of Kosovo and of course we expect this”, Szunyog said.
