Kosovo will be part of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly agenda at the spring session of this body.
For advancing the Kosovo Assembly by observers to associate members of this organisation, Serbia has voiced itself.
Serbia's Assembly Speaker Anna Brnabyq has sent a letter complaint to the leaders of all delegations of members at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
As Tanjug writes in Brnabiqi's letter, it says that advancing the Kosovo Assembly in NATO by an associate member of this organisation “would be a reward for violence against Serbs”.
Serbia expresses its strong opposition to the possibility of Kosovo's Parliamentary Assembly being granted the status of an associate member, while we generally welcome the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's efforts to improve dialogue, strengthen partnerships and increase the number of partners it co-operates with. However, I would like to remember that this is an especially sensitive issue that requires a very careful review, given the possible negative political and security consequences more broadly”, said the letter.
In the letter, among other things, Brnabic complained that Serbs in Kosovo are being discriminated against.
According to her, conditions in Kosovo have resulted in the removal of more than 15 per cent of the Serbian population.
