AAK Parliamentary Group chief Besnik Tahiri said the agreement that media freedom is threatened by politicised regulation is an alarm for everyone, and that this must pass without accounting in the Assembly.
What makes the shift extremely disturbing, as well as the fall of the media freedom index in Kosovo is the fact that when this happens at the end of a government's mandate, electoral democracy is at stake. The census that media freedom is threatened by politicised regulation is an alarm for anyone we believe in democracy. This issue will not go away without being called to account in the Assembly”, Tahiri wrote on Facebook.
Kosovo has fallen for 19 countries in the organisation's annual Reporters Without Borders press freedom Index, which is ranked 75th in the world this year from 180 states, as opposed to last year as 56th.
