The Regional Summit of Western Balkan Leaders is held in Montenegro today and tomorrow. The US assistant secretary of the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien is also expected to attend this meeting at Kotor.
Its “involvement in the summit will focus on regional economic integration and the possibility of growth offered by the Western Balkan Growth Plan of the EU, and will reinforce the strong support of the United States for the Western Balkans' path towards membership in the EU”, states State Department communiques
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Albania's Edi Rama, current prime minister of Northern Macedonia Talat Xhaferi, Serbia President Aleksandar Vuciq, and European Commissioner for Neighborship and Enlargement Oliver Varheley are expected to attend the summit.
