Through a media communiqué, the Kosovo Statistics Agency has thanked all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who, with their participation over the weeks, worked closely with recorders for such a major and important project for Kosovo.
Also, the AKS has indicated that the population census has already been postponed until 24 May, detailing the Action Plan.
“Since the census of population on the ground, under the Government's decision on November 21st, 2023 was up to May 17, 2024, based on several municipalities' demands and based on the monitoring system set up by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) to monitor the performance of the process, we estimated that there might be individuals, family economies or even those who have refused (at the moment) and asked the Government for a extension of the population registration deadline (ReCos2024) until May 24th 2024, which has been endorsed by Government<2>, the ASC's announcement said.
The AKS says that during this period, the census will take place in any registration zone (the municipality villages) of Kosovo and will be conducted only by the staff of the Kosovo Statistics Agency.
The AK also calls for citizens who are not registered to seek to register, encouraging them to contact Kosovo Statistics Agency officials.
