Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, after meeting with US Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy Elizabeth Allen, has said that US support for Kosovo continues to be existential.
At a joint media conference, Osmani announced the signing of the agreement on understanding between the US government and Kosovo against manipulation of information by foreign states.
Today's agreement, according to Osman, facilitates the exchange of information, expertise and best practices between Kosovo and the US in combating information manipulation.
“This alliance is constantly enriched and expanded with the aim of successfully confronting new global challenges. Subsecret visit symbolises not only Kosovo's steadfast partnership- The US also testifies to our mutual commitment to co-operation with the aim of combating common challenges. At our meeting I expressed my thanks to the people of Kosovo for their unreserved US support for Kosovo on every stage of our development, and this support is continuing today. This agreement we signed today is evidence of further strengthening reports between our two countries. I am happy that on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo we signed an agreement in order to join forces against manipulation of information from foreign states”, Osmani said.
Osmani has stressed that the United States is Kosovo's main ally and partnership with the US continues to be existential to any success in Kosovo.
According to Osmanit, dezinforming campaigns pose a major threat to Kosovo's stability and national security, but also to the Western Balkans in general.
These campaigns aim to sow fear, manipulate public opinion, undermine trust in democratic institutions and want to violate democracy and democratic values that stand on the foundations of our states. Russia is trying to exert influence... these malicious forces want to attack our common successes. We as a democracy must unite so they do not succeed”, she added.
